Jennifer Hawksworth – Office & Client Liaison Manager

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. Significant activity is witnessed worldwide as groups come together to celebrate women’s achievements or rally for women’s equality. Find out more about the UN International Women’s Day.

UN Women announced the theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021 as, “Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.” The theme celebrates the incredible efforts by women and girls around the world in shaping a more equal future and recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Today there is more acceptance than ever before that women bring different experiences, perspectives and skills to the table, and make irreplaceable contributions to decisions, policies and laws that work better for all.

As part of IWD2021, PLACE architects stand alongside women in construction against the historically gendered profession of architecture. We believe in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of life. As part of these celebrations, we would like to showcase our amazing female staff members, and their achievements:

Project Manager

“Training as Principal Designer is a blast! CDM [Construction Design and Management] is a crucial part of every build and I enjoy the coordination of health and safety components for all projects. I’m also proud my actions as board member of the Town Plan Group, and Vice Chair of the Chamber of Commerce and Section 106 committees have a direct impact on the future of the local area.”

“Proud to oversee the smooth running of the office and support of staff with my HR hat on having successfully completed an HR Appraisals and Managing Performance course last year through @Cornwall Marine Network. Down time spent sketching and painting.” Pictured here involved in contract preparations for yet another project starting on site soon.
